In a splash of color and creativity, Crestwood Elementary School’s annual fundraiser transformed a regular Tuesday evening into a lively celebration of art and community spirit. The event, held at the school’s art room, was a Paint-and-Sip night designed to support the school’s extracurricular programs and foster a sense of togetherness among parents, teachers, and students.
The evening featured local artist Lisa Matthews, who guided attendees through creating their own masterpieces inspired by the serene autumn landscapes. With easels set up, brushes in hand, and canvases ready, participants enjoyed step-by-step instructions while sipping on refreshments provided by local vendors. Matthews’ expertise and engaging teaching style helped even the most hesitant painters create stunning works of art.
“Our goal was to bring our community together while raising funds for our enrichment programs,” said Principal Rachel Adams. “The Paint-and-Sip event was a perfect blend of fun and philanthropy. It was wonderful to see everyone embracing their artistic side and contributing to a great cause.”
The event was a family affair, with many parents and children teaming up to paint side by side. Attendees enjoyed a selection of appetizers from local eateries and had the opportunity to bid on a silent auction featuring donated artwork, crafts, and gift certificates to local businesses.
“It’s great to see everyone having so much fun while supporting our school,” said parent volunteer Mark Stevens. “The kids are learning the value of community involvement and creativity, and the funds raised will directly benefit their activities and educational resources.”
The evening concluded with a showcase of the completed paintings, which were displayed in the school’s main hallway. The artwork will remain on display for the next month, serving as a colorful reminder of the community’s support.
The Paint-and-Sip event raised over $3,000, a testament to the community’s generosity and enthusiasm. These funds will be allocated towards enhancing art and music programs, organizing educational field trips, and supporting extracurricular clubs.
Crestwood Elementary’s Paint-and-Sip night demonstrated that a shared love for creativity and a commitment to education can combine to make a significant impact. As the final brush strokes were made and the last sips were enjoyed, the consensus was clear: it was a night of artistic achievement and community solidarity, setting a high bar for future school fundraisers.
